and storyteller
Jake Lewis has guided people on transformative educational experiences for 13 years. After working as an outdoor educator for 6 years, Jake founded Gap at Glen Brook, a gap semester program that empowers young adults to create sustainable lives and resilient communities. He has designed adventure learning programs for schools, camps, and for adults since 2015, as well as staff trainings for summer camps and experiential programming.
He combines that “dirt time” with a deep study of the human psyche, a playful spirit, and a reverence for participation.
Myths, tall tales, and epics have been part of Jake’s life since a young age. Making sense of his world with old stories has always made sense to him.
In 2022, Jake traveled to England to study with Dr. Martin Shaw at his School of Myth, learning tales from a true master of the craft. Earlier, Jake studied at the Orphan Wisdom School led by Stephen Jenkinson, a different but equally masterful storyteller.
With a background in professional theater and audio recording, his tellings bring an array of characters to life.
