On October 3rd, we will gather for a weekend to listen to, tell, and reflect on myths and stories, and our personal narratives, to better understand the forces shaping our lives.

Our relationship with technology surfaces all sorts of questions about trial, about temptation, about what happens after you get what you want. This trouble is not new. We’ll gather to listen to some Old Stories address these questions, and keep the questions alive as we wrestle with our answers.

Here is what past participants have said about Storylines:

“Jake told us a story that captured us all in its texture, taste, values. We found ourselves in the characters he described, and through his tellings found context, perspective, and deeper meaning in our own physical lives.”

“SO MANY THANK YOU’s. You came in like the real deal shaman — people are still chewing on the stories and asking for more more more.”

“What we did here was meaning-making.  We discovered and glimpsed our time and place through tellings of what was, is, or might have been.”

“This weekend was amazing and I honestly loved every moment of it.  I found the storytelling sessions to be extremely powerful and I liked the thought-provoking discussions that followed.”

“I feel like this weekend has given me space to look in all directions—forward, backward, sideways, and up and down.”
