Where?
The Dumaine House, A small retreat center in Jacksonville, VT.
Cost?
$270 Early Bird, $300 after January 1. This includes lodging and 6 meals.
On May 19th, we will gather for a weekend to listen to, tell, discuss, and interpret myths and stories, as well as more personal narratives, to better understand the forces shaping our lives.
This gathering will reframe our understanding of crisis, both in our lives and in our world, and enhance our capacity to respond to our times in light of, not in spite of, our struggles.
Here is what past participants have said about Storylines:
“This weekend was amazing and I honestly loved every moment of it. I found the storytelling sessions to be extremely powerful and I liked the thought-provoking discussions that followed.”
“I feel like this weekend has given me space to look in all directions—forward, backward, sideways, and up and down.”
“What we did here was meaning-making. We discovered and glimpsed our time and place through tellings of what was, is, or might have been.”
What are the accommodations like?
We have rented a large country house with several bedrooms and bathrooms. You will be sharing a room with other participants. If you need a different kind of accommodation please reach out, I'll do what I can to welcome you.
How do I get there?
Most people will drive—there are carpool possibilities. We are happy to help you plan logistics to the location, and might be able to arrange to pick you up. Ask and we will do our best!
Who will be there?
8-16 lovely people including Jacob and Shai (the organizers) and you!
What will we do?
Jake will be telling stories and sharing myths. We will also have time to discuss and reflect on them, share delicious meals, and come together over archetypal themes and ideas.
